SYNOPSIS:
Second Chances don’t happen to us all….
Every relationship goes through a rough spot, but for one group of friends, drama unfolds and lives are shaken. Lies have torn apart best friends Mona and Lisa and they now go their separate ways in search of love and happiness.
Candy, the glue who once held together the trio, seems to have the happily ever after with a sexy husband and a brand new baby, but when parenthood puts stress on their marriage, the two must find a way to connect again.
These love lives take a winding, twisting road full of ups and downs, and they all want the same thing: the happily ever after.
...But will they get it? After all, does everyone get a second chance at love?
Nick
“You’re in a good mood,” I say to my wife. She looks decadent in a flowing red dress. Hard to believe that she just had a baby. Her body is tight and lean.
“That, I am, Mr. Lancaster. I will be in an even better mood if you would follow me.”
Woman, I would follow you to the end of the earth as long as I can get you out of that dress. Spellbound by the sway of her hips, I follow behind like a well-trained puppy. We rarely use the west wing of the house. Candy unlocks the adjoining doors to that part of the house and soft lights caressing the walls beg me to enter.
“Stop,” she orders and reaches for a black scarf in a gold bowl. “Put this on.”
“What? Why?”
Smiling like a woman with a plan, she retorts. “You will if you want to see the rest of the trip.”
“What if I like what I see now?” I snake my hands around her waist. One touch from candy, and I’m a mess.
“Baby, stop,” she chides. I swat her playfully on the tush. “Put it on.”
My wife’s demanding tone lets me know that I am all out of options.
“You drive a hard bargain, you know that woman?” I wrap the black silky scarf around my head, covering my eyes.
“No peeking.” Candy slaps my hand then takes it as she leads the way. Mmmm, fresh basil tingles my nostrils. Light breezy instrumental blues stroke my ears. Candy lets go of my hand, but not before warning me not to remove the blindfold. My mind races to figure out what my wife is up to. Now and again she speaks to me. Maybe to reassure me that she is still in the room. Can’t say.
“You can take off your blindfold now,” Candy coaxes gently.
The room is rearranged to look like our favorite restaurant, Sands. The lights are dim, two people dressed as servers standing to the side wait for me to sit in the empty chair my wife gesture for me to occupy.
“What is all this?” I manage to ask.
“I want you to relax and enjoy the ride. This is your night.” Candy wears a less than demure look.
The low neckline of her dress and the ample amount of cleavage she leaves exposed signals to me that tonight’s entertainment will lead to more of a private show. If I had a choice I would be willing to skip dinner in exchange for the private entertainment.
Seeing that my baby went through all this trouble to put this together I keep my desire to myself.
“Nick, close your mouth.” Candy laughs then waves over one of the servers. A young girl with a pleasant demeanor comes up to the table.
“Everything is on schedule, Mrs. Lancaster. We’re ready to begin when you are.”
“Thank you, Tosha, and yes we are ready.” Candy has such a beautiful smile. I love the way the candlelight flickers off her skin, creating a golden hue. I will spend the rest of my life with this woman.
“I love you so much.”
“I love you so much too and I’m truly sorry that I’ve put you through hell for the last few months. Will you please forgive me?”
“There is nothing to forgive, but yes.” When Candy, looks at me this way I will say yes to anything she asks.
